Energy-efficient snowmaking is just one way we try to do our part in being an environmentally-conscious company. We’re working on a number of initiatives, but you may notice one of them in our food and beverage outlets.
We’re phasing out single-use plastic beverage containers to the fullest extent possible. For example, in F&B outlets such as the ski area base lodge, we’re emphasizing fountain drinks rather than single-serve bottles. And in retail outlets, we’ve recently switched to a different form of bottled water. Instead of plastic bottles, water is now provided by Rain Pure Mountain Spring Water. That’s packaged in aluminum bottles, and those bottles are fully reusable by the purchaser. Additionally, aluminum is almost infinitely recyclable as aluminum; plastic containers can be re-used but the material can’t really be truly recycled.
